Fine Friday Finds # 5

This is my latest Fine Friday Finds and it is the perfect subject for today, Good Friday.  Isn't it beautiful?~  

 I do believe it is Saint Joseph holding Baby Jesus, it looks old but I do not think it is as the frame is printed with the makers mark and not penned in as they would have done in years past I do not know what it was painted on it looks and feels like burlap also you can see grid marks and I do think that is a sign of age either. These do not keep me from loving it, what I love is the subject matter~

Oh gosh, I am sorry I did not realize this picture was  so out of focus, it was priced at $29.99 but I paid $15.75, because some kids were playing with it & made a very small hole on it plus it was 25% off day.  The frame itself would have cost more than I paid for the painting perhaps twice that much add the painting & I could have easily paid over $100.00, it was meant to be mine for a lot less~ 

With much honor here it is hanging in our foyer~

Easter Decor & Blessings~

I have been so busy with fixing the walls that I have not had time to do any Easter decorating so I took an hour today to put something simple but beautiful together.  Here is what I have done in the living room so far~

 Last year I bought these large eggs and painted them this beige color~ 

 This year I added some ribbon and crosses.  I put them along with some other plastic & glass eggs into this pretty brass bowl, I added our bible and a swan~  I love the beauty of the simplicity~

 In the kitchen I added some bright colors for my angels~

 Instead of using straw again this year I colored  some music sheets with an extra egg coloring kit we already had~

 We had 6 kits on hand because last year after Easter my husband saw them on sale for .10~

 Here they are drying, I made a make shift drying line with yarn and tied it to the stair posts~ 

 I then put the sheets through the shredder!  PERFECT! Just what I wanted~

 I put some into the lanterns added come colored glitter eggs and some Easter candles in the smaller lanterns & came out with this vignette again simple but sweet~

Fine Friday Finds #4

I am getting this weeks post up a bit late because we have been very busy fixing walls throughout the house, that some years ago painters messed up, more of that story later ugh... In the mean time check out  my Fine Friday Finds!

 An Easter egg holder~

 I paid a whole $2.00~

 This is a cute lunch box recipes for children to make for their own lunches for school~

 I guess it was $2.00 day~

 The original cost was quite high, I would NEVER pay this much for something we might use once or twice but for $2.00 I can swing it~

 I can't seem to refuse these little cloche domes~

 It was $3.99 and I paid $1.00, I think I will make something for my sister~

 Another thing I can't seem to pass up is Italian mirrors this was only $1.50~

 I found this game to play with the angels it was NIB & we have already had fun playing with it~

 Cost to me $2.99~

 This is a makeup case for my handbag, it looked as if it had never been used so I grabbed it~

I already had the wallet so this completes the set. It was marked 2.99, but it was 1/2 off day, yea me I never hit half off day!!~

Sorry it was such a quick post & I hope spelling & grammar is alright as I have no time to check it, got to get back to work!!

Fine Friday Finds #3

I really do enjoy thrifting, it is just so much fun, I feel like I am bucking the system when I find really good deals and some good deals did I find on my last thrifting adventure.  The price marked on each of the items is not what I ended up paying.  You see the only benefit I have found thus far after having turned 50 is the...dare I say it? The senior citizen discount,  For some reason I do not feel 50 nor do I feel like like a senior citizen either, but I am HAPPY to get any discount,so I feel that is my pay off for having lived this long (he-he)~

Look how pretty and intricate this brass bowl is I am not sure if I will keep it this way or paint it, or I just might sell it too!  What do you think I should do with it?

I do not know why I did not take close up pictures of these frames, but trust me they are pretty~

As of late I have been stock piling miniature jeweled frames & I do not know why.  I have collected in a very short time approx. 10-12 hummm don't know! Any ideas? The were marked .99 each~

I know I will be using these in my next fall decor vignette.  They are 2 different colors & I may paint them the same color.  Don't know how they will be used YET!! They were marked $1.99 for the pair. BTW the senior discount was 25% off total purchase~

I found this clock at another thrift store and I knew once I saw it how I was going to change it~

I have already painted it but it still needs some work.  I hope to finish it tomorrow. This was $3.93

In addition to my love of thrifting, I have found that I LOVE looking at other thrifting blogs to see what other people have bought, what they paid & drool & wish~
